Ramadan day 3 - The “socialization” myth.

One of the biggest myths about homeschooling is your kids will be less socialized. The reality is when kids are only socializing with their peers, they’re not mimicking the real world. In the real world, and even during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, there was a lot of interaction between children and adults. The society ran as a single unit with both kids, teenagers, and adults interacting and producing for society.

Today’s school systems indirectly promote a complete lack of respect for authority because no real discipline can be implemented. Students have more rights than teachers do and can get away with screaming and all kinds of disrespectful backtalk.

Remember it is the tongue that can lead one to the hellfire. As part of a longer hadith:

'O Prophet of Allah! Will we be taken to account for what we say?' He said: 'May your mother grieve your loss O Mu'adh! Are the people tossed into the Fire upon their faces, or upon their noses, except because of what their tongues have wrought' (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2616)
